This is our Summer Season Opener and this event is now in its 14th year. We normally do not run a Memorial Day Event, but with the Holiday falling at the end of the month in 2016 this fits the opening of our Summer Season.
For Ages 9u - 14u this will be a USSSA" NIT " event. All teams will need to be Sanctioned with USSSA Baseball. Being an "NIT" event this will provide 2x points and we will offer the Champion of each age group a free entry to the USSSA State tournament -- provided we have 12 teams in the age division. If we do not have 12 teams we will pro rate the entry fee for the State Tournament.
We will offer a 4 game minimum with most teams playing 5 to 6 games -- pitching rules will be adjusted for a 6th game. The host site for 9u - 13u teams will be the beautiful and modern Victory Park in North Ridgeville ( West Cleveland Suburbs ) - an 8 field complex with lights on all fields. The 14u teams will play on the Premier High School Field at Victory Park along with top high School faclities in the west suburbs of Cleveland as well as high fields in Akron.
For ages 15u - 18u -- this will not be a USSSA Sanctioned event so teams will not have to be USSSA sanctioned. There will be a 4 game minimum -- games will start on Friday evening for local teams. Host college sites are Kent State University - Mt Union University - and possibly Baldwin Wallace College along with Top High School Fields in Cleveland / Akron / Canton. We will have 4 turf fields available for this event.
For all age groups the entry fee covers your umpire fees -- teams will supply game balls -- those baseballs will be returned upon completion of the game. Team and Individual awards for 1st and 2nd place.
There will be entrance fees at some parks -- those will be listed before scheduling.
