The Battle in The ( 330 ) is our most heavily attended event of the Summer Season. This is the tournament's 14th year. In 2014 we had over 150 teams participate in this tournament and we have sold out each of the last 8 years. The host sites are Quality Baseball Complexes, Minor League Stadiums, College and High School Fields.
As with all Team Sports events the tournament will be well organized with timely communication, and have the top umpires in youth baseball sanctioned and assigned through the Game Hogz Umpiring School.
The 8u - 14u age groups will have a 3 game minimum with half the teams playing 4 or more games. In addition to the entry fee teams will pay umpires on the field ( 8u - $25 per team per game ) ( 9u and 10u - $30 per game per team ) ( 11u - 13u - $45 per game per team ) Teams will also supply one new and one used baseball per game.
The 14u 60/90 age group will have a 3 game minimum with half the teams playing 4 or more games -- the 14u games will played at Ashland University -- Ashland HS and Hillsdale HS -- not often the 14's get to play on a college field. The entry fee for 14u 60x90 covers the umpire fee - teams will supply game balls
The 15u - 18u age groups will have a 4 game minimum with many teams playing 5 or 6 games. Depending on the amount of entries games may begin Thursday June 9 at 4pm - teams from out of town will be given consideration for later starts on Friday. Games will be played in Akron / Canton / Cleveland area at College Fields, minor league parks, and top high school facilities. The highlight fields are - Kent State University, Thurman Munson Stadium, Mt Union University to name a few.
The entry fee covers the umpire fees, but teams will provide 1 new and 1 used game ball to start each game.
